IF I HAD OBEYED

IF I HAD OBEYED

Written by  Victor C. Ihugba

Every night before the usual time his parents return from work, Tayo, a boy of eight years would sneak out of his house to a club house which is a bit far from his apartment.

You would wonder what a child of eight years is doing in a club house. He goes there to watch movies or his favourite sport, football.

The club house is an open region that permits people to come watch television programmes, especially sports, outside the main entrance. Restrictions are only  given into the main hall where they do all of those things.

Tayo became highly engrossed in watching football matches. He would even join those older than him in arguments. His addiction became uncontrollable even at the age of thirteen.

His parents had warned him countless times not to leave the house after school. You know, as the only child, they would cook enough food for him and still drop a good amount of money at home for him before going to work. Tayo always prefer doing that thing in his mind.

Days grew into months and months transformed into years. The sixteen years old boy graduated from the class of watching football matches into the class of watching the uncovered prostitutes that patrols in and out of the club house.

The visual spell bond took a deep short into his heart that he salivated for the the real meal.

However, he never had interest in drinking and smoking. It irritated him. But those uncovered laps and cleavages. Blew off his mind.

A young lady who visit the club house regularly, got a sensation of his frequent glancing. she plotted on how to have her way Into his life. She succeeded when he couldn't resist her seductive approach one night after a football match.

"Excuse me!"

(Pretending not to have observed him earlier)

"I've been trying to  set up an email account. But I'm not really getting it. Please do you know how it works?" She asked

"Yes it's not difficult at all"

Tayo replied.

He got her into her fake desires and that was they became friends.

Their friendship became so intimate and finally turned into a lust story. This young man's self control was reading zero percent. At a time, she introduced him to the bed, this was after he was done with his secondary school, about to enter the university.

It became a shameful story to hear the moment tayo realised he had signed into becoming a father at the age of seventeen.

The Twenty-one years old lady who claim to be nice to Tayo became violent dog at that moment, Tayo's eyes opened. The love he thought they had for each other was deceitful and wicked.

What can you call it? Was that love or lust? Was that pleasure or pain? Was that freedom or foolishness?

His memories flashed back to the times his mother warned him severally not to leave the house, he wailed.

" But was it my fault, how can I be left home alone", he said to himself.

The news got to all ears in their neighbourhood, church school,....  What a terrible reality for Tayo who wished he could turn back the hands of time.

Don't be ignorant about the ways of your children Even right from the day he/she came out of his/her mother's womb.

Know their whereabouts, know what they can do and what they can't do. know their friends as well.

Children, obedience is better than sacrifice. Be wise. Those instructions are not to chain you in captivity. They work for your safety which will Surely make you smile in the future.
