Is Time Running Out And You're Still Unaccomplished?

By Leon Why don't you take just 2 minutes now to think about your life at present. Are you where you'd like to be? In your relationships - with your parents, your kids, your partner, your friends In your health - your weight, your fitness level, your diet In your career - your job satisfaction, your career progression, your growth In your finances - your savings for a home, college tuition, marriage, retirement In your personal development - your happiness, your satisfaction with life, If you have a little more time to spare, why not jot some thoughts down so you can look at them at a later time? What's lacking? what would you like to see happen? what do you need to do in order to realize those desires? Have you made some notes? Are you suddenly overwhelmed? Maybe there might actually be a lot that you haven't yet realized... Maybe you can now tell that one or more aspect of your life is severely lacking or nee

It's Bill Gates remembering his funny stay; while he was in school....

When I was a student, I was lucky to have some inspiring teachers who brought out the best in me. I recently met a remarkable teacher who is doing the same thing for kids who face obstacles I never could have imagined when I  was in school. Her name is Mandy Manning, and she teaches English and math in Spokane, Washington, to immigrant and refugee teens who have just arrived in the united  states
Hi Buddies, 🚂🚉🚅🚞🚋🚌 I'm really big on fitness and staying fit, but I also don't like spending too much time working out as my time is precious, so I'm always finding new ways to optimize my workout sessions. When it comes to working out, it's more than just going on the treadmill or lifting weights. It's important to include strength training and mobility exercises for your everyday health. So that simple things like being able to carry the groceries, carrying your kids or grand kids, lifting luggage or being able to bend over to tie your shoe laces in to old age won't be a problem for you. As you know, I'm always finding new ways to optimize my work out sessions so that I get the most in the least amount of time possible. And I've found  5 exercises   that has helped me to work on my strength, which can be done quickly, and you don't even need to go to the gym if you already have some of the basic equipment at home. Work Is Of Two kinds

Image
By James Allen It is either loving labor or enforced slavery. The man whose sole object is to get through his work in order to draw his pay, who has no love for, and no interest in his work, beyond what it represents in cash, is a slave and not a true worker. He labors only under the compulsion of necessity. His entire interest is in getting instead of in doing. He gives his labor irk somely and perfunctorily, but receives his pay with eagerness, striving, when he things he safely can, to give less and less labor, and get more and more wages. _"Less work and more pay," is the cry of slaves, and not of men._ On the contrary, the man whose heart is centered in his work, who aims at the perfect performance of his duty, is a true worker whose usefulness and influence are cumulative and progressive, carrying him on from success to greater and greater success, from low spheres of labor to higher and higher still. Thinking little or nothing of the wages, and much of reward,

What Games Can Teach You About Motivation 💯

Image
Leon from lifehack  When you were young, did you enjoy playing video games? Or you might still enjoy them now! One interesting thing that video game designers have begun mastering is the art of motivation. They can make players spend enormous amounts of time, energy and focus just to gain virtual goals, rewards, or achievements. Yet the reality is that these are things that aren't tangible. They can't sustain you, or help in your resume, or be traded for anything material. Yet the motivation that they create is so  real. So real, that the virtual rewards and accomplishments are much much more attractive than real life ones. So if you're looking to increase your motivation, then why not structure them the way video games do?  To do so, you need to create a  progression stairway . You need tangible indicators of success and rewards. It's like collecting badges or gaining virtual currency. Except you're doing that in real life. What

How To Make The Most Of It 😈

By  Mark Manson  🐩🐈🐏 How to make the most of it  🦈🐠🥄🍾 Welcome to another Mindf*ck Monday email. Every week, I send you three potentially life-changing ideas with the hopes that we can all become slightly less awful people. This week we’re talking, 1) finding the leverage points in life, 2) living in the age of short-term bias, and 3) some books about everybody’s favorite topic: racism.  Let’s get into it.  (Note: If you know someone who would benefit from this email, please consider forwarding it to them.  1. Finding the leverage points in life -  In  last week’s newsletter , I talked about how there are certain activities and pursuits in life that provide non-linear results — for example, an increase of 10% ability can generate 100% improvement in your quality of life.  I argued that people who are good at spotting leverage points like this are the ones who tend to do the best in life. They develop the ability

FEW TRAGIC WHEN YOU QUIT

Image
*Don't Quit!* By John Greenleaf Whittier_ 🍽🍷🍻🍺 When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is strange with its twists and turns As every one of us sometimes learns And many a failure comes about When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow— You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out— The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell just how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit— It's when things seem worst that you must not quit. _-
