This Is Why You Are Not Getting Opportunities

It is not your village people. Your environment determines the kind of opportunities you will get, and to the degree in which you will get these opportunities.

Your environment doesn't have to only be your physical geography. It could be the people you hang out with or the kind of experiences you immerse yourself in. 

There are certain opportunities you can never get unless you're in a particular city, state or country. 

There are certain opportunities you will not be able to take advantage of if you don't have a passport or a valid visa. 

There are certain opportunities you will have to turn down because your business isn't yet registered and/or you don't have a corporate account. 

There are jobs you will not be able to take on because you have refused to open a Domiciliary account. 

There are conversations you will never be able to be a part of because you are not physically present in the room where these conversations are being had. You cannot learn everything online or in a book or course. 

There are certain opportunities you will never hear of because of the kind of circle you find yourself in. 

Take Mr. Eazy and his Zagadat Fund as an example, and how he just invested in a startup funding round. 

Where do you think he got the idea and know-how to start a Venture Capitalist fund? Who is he dating? Who is her father? 

There are certain opportunities you are skilled for, but because of your mouth (or in the case of social media, your fingers), you will never be considered. 

There are certain opportunities you are perfect for, but you cannot be trusted because you screenshot conversations from your DMs or you've been found commenting on sexist, racist, misogynistic posts. 

Some people will simply not get opportunities, not because of something they did, but because of who they associate with. Check your circle. 

Is there someone there with a loose mouth, carefree and destructive attitude who could be harming your prospects? Do yourself a favour and do a circle cleanse. 

Do you need to change your environment? Do you need to change your circle? Do you need to reinvent yourself and sanitize your social media? What do you need to do to ensure you don't miss opportunities?
