THIS IS THE ONLY WEAPON THAT IS MISSING IN YOUR ARMOURY.
The reason why many have settled for mediocrity is because they've lost the ability to sustain their hunger to be more. Hence, the things which are designed to work for them ends up happening to them as a result of the absence of a strong inner drive towards a pursuit. The hallmark of every genuine desire is in its pursuit. A lion runs the fastest towards its prey when it is hungry.
There's a need to understand that on the path towards becoming, your hunger is as important as your ability. Some folks are excelling at the same thing that you do, not because they are more skillful than you but because they desire it more - A desire stronger than their willpower. You may console yourself by stating the obvious fact that they aren't as experienced and knowledgeable as you are but you can't ignore the results been birthed by their unusual inner drive.
I am immensely obsessed with obtaining a high level of expertise, gaining mastery and being excellent in whatever I do. However, I've seen that there'll be times when the hunger to become must supersede the abilities of a man (innate or developed) in order to stay true to a cause.
There have been times when my 'HQ' (hunger quotient) has proven to be a vital weapon in my armoury than my IQ (Intelligence quotient). There have been days when the established thought of 'I CAN do all things through Christ …' proved to be a stronger tool needed to rescuscitate confidence in me than my level of skillfulness or expertise.
In the days when there's no one to encourage you, you'll find that inner drive a more useful tool in your took kit than your skills or expertise.
This is why men who are driven by a desire stronger than themselves rarely give up. Even skilled men are capable of throwing in the towel when things go bad but hungry men become extra motivated in the face of challenges. These are people who irrespective of the times have set their face like a flint.
Conclusively, the level of satisfaction/fufilment you'll derive from your doings/life cannot be greater than your level of hunger and thirst to become …
'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst; for they shall be filled.'
I am hungry to be more! I am hungry to utilize the installations of God within me! I am hungry to be all!
Are you still hungry at all?
