The Core Values Of Self improvement

By Leon From lifehack
Today, I want to take you another step further and talk about Core Values.

Core Values are super important because shape the way you see everything around you. They're the underlying force beneath every single decision that you make. Having the right core values can completely change your outlook.

At Lifehack, we have 3 core values that form the backbone of our work. They've been a key factor of success and I'm going to share them with you today.

Let's dive right in!

1. Everything is a Flow

Have you ever heard this saying?

Nothing remains constant except change itself.

This couldn't be more true and should never be overlooked when it comes to your life. Many people fall into the trap that circumstances in their life is anything but a flow: static, permanent, unchangeable.

But this is a very unproductive way to think about things. Since life is not static, you hold a lot of power to influence what happens next in both your actions and your mindset.

Therefore, if one of your main blockers is to feel stuck in your situation, think about the flow.

The good news is that you can't actually be stuck even if you try. It goes against the nature of things.

So, use this to your advantage and go with the flow, and take the opportunity to create some major shifts in your life.

2. Inputs vs. Outputs

What do I mean by inputs versus outputs? Well, for starters, we tend to focus a LOT on outputs, or the results of an action. Since they are the result of something, they are extremely difficult to change; afterall, it's hard to change the past... but you can influence the future.

Therefore, it would benefit us greatly to instead focus on the inputs, which are the actions that you can control.

When you think about the results (the outputs) of your inputs (your actions), it's a lot easier to break down what changes you need to make to get more desirable outputs.

By focusing on the inputs, and using your outputs as indictators, you can actually better understand where to focus your energy next.

For example, if you are feeling completely stuck in an unfulfilling career, consider your inputs...

What are you doing day to day to CHANGE your situation regarding your career? If you make a list, chances are you'll see a lot of areas for improvement. These are the inputs you should be focusing on if a career change is something you desire.

It's easy to go through your day-to-day focusing on outputs, but this won't help you make any progress.

Take a deeper look at your inputs, and you'll easily be able to pinpoint the areas in your life that are and are not working for you. And, from there, it will be even easier to determine where you should be focusing your energy next.

3. Break Things Down

This a major concept when it comes to achieving your dreams. If your goal seems too big, the idea of accomplishing it can seem impossible. But, the truth of the matter is that pretty much all goals can and should be broken down into smaller goals, so that progress is easier to achieve little by little. This not only helps with motivation, but it can lead to incredible breakthroughs.

Let me explain.

If you have a really big goal, it's easy to look at that and feel overwhelmed. That's because this big goal is not made to be tackled all at once--in fact, it would be pretty impossible to do so.

But, if you break it down into smaller, bite-sized tidbits, then your really big goal all of a sudden seems so much easier. That's because you'll start with the smaller, easy tasks, and keep moving forward as you get closer and closer to your end goal (your big goal). This builds momentum, and will help you get closer and closer to your end goal in smaller, easier steps.

By implementing this technique in just about everything you do (yes, this is very possible with practice!), you'll be astounded at the results you can achieve.
