A little boy went with his parents to their hometown to go worship God.
His parents somehow went back thinking he was traveling with their relatives, only to find out that he wasn't with them and after three days they found him in the temple listening to teachers, asking them questions.
When his mom asked him why he made them worried, he replied "Didn't you know I must be about my father's BUSINESS"
this little boy of twelve years stayed three days without eating, without supervision, without taking his bath just so. He could be about his father's busiy, the funny part is that he never remembered home
Some years later, this same boy who had now become a man way so tired that he decided to rest while his followers went to get him food, as tired as he was at that well, he asked for water to quench his thirst yet he turned that encounter into his father's business yet he was tired.
Another time this same young man would teach 5000 people for three days without eating himself yet he was so into his Father's business that he thought about those he had been teaching first before thinking about what he himself would eat.
His passion for his Father's business was seen in the way he did everything before and after his resurrection
It is no mistake that the Japanese included passion as one of the fundamental components of the "Ikigai".
Ikigai the union point of four fundamental components of life;
passion, vocation,
profession
and mission.
In a different line,
✓where what you love ✓what you're good at
✓what you can be valued and paid for
✓ what the world needs.
These four components must meet
Many people are diving into the world of entrepreneurship because they see others succeeding and therefore assume it's lucrative and will guarantee their own success.
It seems like the best thing for anyone who wants to control their own work while making as much money, As if it were that easy.
One has to be realistic about being a business owner, thinking you'll earn millions within your first year as a business owner is one fantasy to get rid of.
Taking into account that 50% of small business fall within their first year, you'll have to be very realistic about being a business owner if you want to succeed. This is because many aspiring business owners only believe the rewards of a successful business without acknowledging the required procedures that bring about those results.
The omitted process is why so many business crash before they can even start. Creating a business, because someone else is succeeding at it, isn't enough to make your business a success. Their result won't guarantee same results.
And that's why it's important for one to be passionate about a business before they venture into it.
A business, especially in the first couple of years, is extremely difficult. There are moments when a business goes on it's lowest, times when a business owner questions why they're taking this route and if it’s ever going to be worth it. That’s where passion comes into play.
A business birthed out of competition is likely to fail in these first couple of years, yes, because it lacks the very foundation of passion.
A business emanated from passion always excels over a business that emanates from trends.
What is passion?
I like to relay passion as a strong and extravagant enthusiasm for anything.
Passion is what drives you to succeed because you're completely enthusiastic and dedicated towards your business no matter how hard the process become.
Passion may be the most important trait of the successful entrepreneur. They genuinely love what they do and are willing to put in the extra hours to make their business grow. They get a sense of satisfaction from their work that goes beyond making money
Passion inspires the vision for your business even if it’s in a niche that no one has done before.
Passion attracts the right consumers to your business.
Passion helps you build an authentic brand and brand story.
Passion helps bring you clarity in times when you feel stuck or uncertain.
Passion helps you set a solid foundation for your business and establish core values.
Passion gives you the motivation and confidence that you need to deliver your mission and purpose for what you do and why you do it.
Passion helps you network with the right people who share similar perspectives.
Passion helps you own your space and become an expert in what you do.
Passion helps you create authentic content that resonates with the right audience.
Passion sets you apart from competitors.
Without having passion driving you, one wouldn't survive as a business owner because they struggle that comes with building a business will take a toll on you mentally, emotionally and physically. This can be very tough to conquer without having a passion driving you.
Don’t overlook building a business that stems from your passion. Do the inner work that is necessary and figure out your real purpose for your entrepreneur journey and the business that you want to be successful.
Before starting a business one should be sure to posses the passion necessary to succeed in such business.
Your struggles, your moments of realization, the voids and problems that inspired the solution that you provide, who you want to help most, and where your passion comes from.
One time I met this traffic warden who passionately was controlling the traffic, dancing and whistling as he gave the signals.
At first it was funny to watch, I mean I had some good laugh as well as the colleagues who were with me, but we could smirk all we want, the traffic warden was having fun doing a job that he was being paid for, the pay might not be much but he found a way to make sure he found happiness while doing that Job.
This is why most people find Mondays very exhausting, because you're not passionate about that Job.
We wonder why it is so hard to read a chapter of the bible or a chemistry textbook but very easy to read a novel of 200 pages.
Passion is something we all have neglected for a long time, I know most of us have been told that passion doesn't pay the bills, but why waste one life on a Job that doesn't give you satisfaction.
Find your passion. Hope you're on your route to passion?
