WHY YOU SHOULDN'T TAG PEOPLE ON YOUR POST.

In the year 2010, I was welcomed into this blue street. I came here without no vision, plans, and goals. I just want to be social since it is called social media.

I never knew I was shooting myself on the leg.

I thought social media was everything chatting and making new friends. I thought it was a place you can ease your pains and have fun with those you had made friends with.

But my ideology on what social media is failed me.

I could recall that whenever I made a post or uploaded a picture I would want more people to see it and I will eventually tag a lot of people on the post.

But each time I tagged people on my posts I will end up being frustrated, the engagement on the post will reduce and those I tagged might not even like the post.

I never knew what I was doing, I thought by tagging a lot of people on my post, I could get more reactions on the post.

I thought by enforcing people to see my post will increase the eyes on the post, all these were my thoughts but I was received.

I became aware of the damage I was cursing to myself when I registered for a class, I was totally ashamed of myself.

After the class, I began to think why on earth will I tag people that have nothing to do with my post.

I learned this truth with money but I am passing this light to you for free.

Uncle, please stop tagging people on your posts if it doesn't concern them. Tagging people on your posts doesn't anywhere have a formation on how to increase your engagement.

Sister, I know you are beautiful, you are the best of your kind, but hear this truth, tagging people on that picture of yours doesn't have anything to do with increasing the engagement. It is the truth that nobody has told you.

When you tag people on that post of yours, you are begging them to either like or comment on it which doesn't speak value to your brand.

The Facebook algorithm will not even allow that post to go viral.

When you tag, you are devaluing your capacity, therefore, killing whatever it is you are building.

All I am saying in this post is for you to stop tagging people that have nothing to do with your post. It doesn't anywhere increase the engagement of your post.

Build your capacity and watch it grow, you are the best of your kind but your limited mindset will never allow you to dominate your space.

Say no to tagging and build your capacity.
