COLOURS OF RAGE

COLOURS OF RAGE

Written By Ify Omeni

In a blinding flash of light

The colours rolled

Spilling into a Kaleidoscope of brightness

So brightly they burned

I attempted a smile.

Then I saw them

The riotous rhythm of darkness

Spread in colours of blackness

I made no pretense to smile.

They stole my smile

Their acts raised the melody

Of evil dressed

In tones of brightness

I was the victim

The trophy they paraded.

Rage reclines on my visage

No music plays

To soothe the sad relics

Of the glory they buried

The elders who sat as jury

To trade my destiny.

Colours of rage grace the stage

The place they left desolate

When they plundered my trust.

It is time to paint

A new portrait of hope

Even while despair Dances a duet with desolation.

It is time for freshness

To decorate the places of desecration

While their colours of pain rage

New melodies of hope Come to stage.
