AS A CHILD

AS A CHILD.

Written By Isaiah Chibike Ilo

On Friday I watched as a group of children in my church came out to answer the call of repentance.

Their heart was filled with innocence, their reasoning of God was astonishing, but why?

That question was laid on my mind like a mattress covering the surface of a bed [ my mind]. I searched for answers like a dog hovering for bones laid to pieces in the soil. I reached to God, For I feared that man would cloud me with philosophy ranging from pride and its kind. But in my period of thought, I had to pick up the pebbles sparingly. I am a man in my way. Knowledge has a way of tearing our minds to a distance: infinite. The question could not be answered. My cerebrum, acting as a gatekeeper, and a pioneer of my cause[ knowledge] was amplified, as a partner. We looked for the answer, but he failed to serve his purpose.

I found it, deep in the night, clinging to me like a pest. I hated it, but when I opened my 3rd eye, I could now see. Answer was always hoping for my attention, he had always been there, on my bed, the chair, sweeping through the alley. It was the word of God, the Bible. Even God has called us to be like children possessing is desires buried deep in our minds, but I see boys like me running the marathon to be a big empty entity, possessing no quality.

Those children found their way through the darkness. When I looked through their eyes, it shone like an incandescent light, all because of the word of God that found a way to arrest their innocence.

Most of you lack that innocence branded by the word of God. You take your time riding your cone, and rod cells on the screen. The Telemundo, zee world, football, BetNaija, social media, and many more is the habitude you cleave. You claim to love God, but your desire to hear his voice through his word is lost. Your bottoms find a resting spot just during church hours, but outside of the arena of God`s people, mixed with goats, and rams breeding in his holy body, I see no desire to know God more. But you would know Cardi b, Nicki, Drake, Justine b more than your own God. The betnaija houses are now crowded with men synonymous with fools seeking temporal riches. Those of you who pretend despite hearing the word of God, are like the devil secret agents. Your hypocrisy will strip you naked in hell on that day. May God deliver us all.
