Why Should We Do This?
Are You Aiming High Enough?
Writer By Leon Ho
Setting small goals is the worst thing you can do for yourself.
You might think that by setting goals that seem reachable, you'll actually achieve them.
That you'd be more motivated because what you want seems easy to accomplish.
And you would be wrong.
Why am I so certain about it?
Because I've seen first-hand what having small goals does to people.
They kill your motivation.
Because you believe the goal is easy to achieve, you don't work as hard to get it.
You limit the amount of work you can do.
You start underestimating the effort you'll need to put in to succeed.
Then, you realize there's more work to achieve that small goal than you thought before.
In the end, you don't even achieve what you wanted in the first place.
All because you didn't set your goals high enough.
Don't worry, though.
You can still do something about this.
You can still get the motivation you need to succeed in life.
All you have to do is start aiming higher.
Grant Cardone's book "The 10x Rule" explains it perfectly.
It says that...
"You must set targets that are 10 times what you think you want and then do 10 times what you think it will take to accomplish those targets".
Why Should We Do This?
Because we often underestimate the amount of work achieving our dreams will require.
If our goals are small, we won't have the motivation we need to take the actions that will lead us to success.
On the other hand, higher goals motivate us to achieve more and take action.
This is why our goals need to scare us.
They have to be so big and make us wonder if we will ever achieve such a thing.
That seems almost impossible to reach.
When you do this, something happens within you.
You start feeling more motivated than ever.
The limiting beliefs you had before disappeared.
Your mindset changes and you start believing nothing is impossible to achieve.
All you have to do is start setting higher goals for yourself.
