THE POWER OF COMMUNICATION

 THE POWER OF COMMUNICATION

Writer By Merry Paul

I was on my way to Utako from Berger( Areas in the FCT) the cab I boarded had an audio tape playing. It was Reverend Father Nbaka that was ministering. I don't know much about him except that He's quite a political preacher. But in the midst of his teaching he said something mind blowing and super remarkable. *"Anything you stop communicating will die "* Although he was talking about fanning the flames of our prayer life(communication with God), I realized that it could also be applicable in our relationship with anybody.

While growing up, we all had best buddies, we thought we will be best friends forever, then suddenly we got admission into different higher institutions, got exposed to different friends, believe systems and ideologies; then gradually those who used to be our best friends become strangers. Why? *Because by virtue of the new environment, believe systems and ideologies we both got exposed to which were contrary to each other, our communication died off.*

*"Anything you stop communicating will die"*

That's how many relationship and marriages died. Couples could no longer tolerate one another, they begin to keep malice, then  pride sets in, non is willing to submit, then selfishness and fear eventually ruined everything. Why? because couple's stopped communicating effectively.

For some of you who still have Good relationship with your ex's, didn't you notice that lack of effective communication was the major reason why you guys broke apart? You were too angry to calm down and talk, so you ended up sacking yourselves despite the fact that you both know that you still loved each other.

If our relationships and marriages must succeed, we must learn to effectively communicate, keep on communicating and grow in communication.

Merry Paul.

Happy Learning
