Do You Think This Country's Problem Was Caused By Our Leaders?

NIGERIA: A CHANGE STARTS WITH EVERYONE.

*Written* by *Michael Agwulonu*, Fellow Nigerian and a Student Politician.

Do You Think This Country's Problem Was Caused By Our Leaders?

My answer is No. And that's why I am writing this for everyone to understand the need to change our Nigeria from the grassroot.

Both the Leaders and followers are part of the problem we are facing today. We are part of the problem of insecurity, the problem of corruption and bribery, the problem of the fall in the economy, the problem of bad governance, and so on.

And if our country, Nigeria needs to change, we need to realize that change starts with you and I.

God has given each and everyone of us the freedom to choose between right and bad. And each one of us knows the differences.

But some chose to go for the bad one because of the worldly affairs and enjoyment. Some choose to swim into the

dirty pit either through their social connection, their personal self, or their background.

Why do we focus for gaining personal interest than building our country, Nigeria?

I see GREEDINESS and SELFISH-INTEREST has the devilish tools that prevent from having a GREATER NIGERIA.

We want everything to ourselves. You only think about yourself, not minding the consequences of your action to your fellow Nigerians.

That is bad. And we need to curb that first.

It is very sad that most people shouting for change in government are those that created the catalyst that activated bad governance.

What is the catalyst?

• Lack of voter's card

• Keen Interest to Political Parties, not minding the personality involved.

• Receiving bribe for votes.

• Joining in the rigging of election.

• Dissemination of wrong information about a candidate.

• Tribalistic Choice of Candidates.

Failure to educating young ones and elderly people on the essence and the processes of voting.

It was really painful when I watched a video of two young ladies rejoicing for getting bribed with some amount of money during the Ondo election. And we keep blaming the people in power.

And we did all these things and we are expecting good governance. It is not done that way. You have to start making changes now. Don't be so dumbed and forget your background by being bribed. What will the bribe change in your destiny? Instead of it to even change the present situation, it will destroy the future of the next generation.

Will they kill you if you don't receive their bribe? Absolutely, No. But most people will become stupid to forget the consequences of their action.

Another scenario is seen during this ENDSARS protest. I felt so pissed off when PRs are bribed to regard every news on the evidences generated from the Lekki Massacre Shootings as fake. We are all called to unite ourselves to mobilize for a change in government and to end brutality of our fellow Nigeria, but some chose to go against the movement by regarding evidences as fake and also, disturbing the protest, just because of their selfish-interest.

This message is for you to know that we have to start changing the system by changing our mind set with the positive ways we can go about it. In whatever sector you are, start creating that change.
