"I'm waiting for the right time" "I'm waiting for all this to be over so we can go back to how things were" "I'm waiting for things to go back to normal" "I'm waiting for the right opportunity"
I'm sure you've either heard these lines.. or you've said it to someone. Especially so this year?
Many of us have been waiting for the right moment..waiting out the pandemic, waiting for a vaccine, waiting for the job market or economy to pick up... But what have you been doing in the mean time?
Because time hasn't stopped.
For some, this mentality holds us back from doing more. We're losing precious time and missing out on potential opportunities.
My friend Lionel (not really his name, for obvious reasons 😞) gained 8kg in 5 months since the COVID-19 pandemic. As gyms were closed, he stopped working out. Despite my efforts of encouraging him to do home work outs, and even sending him links to the routines I do, and where to buy the equipment online, Lionel refused to give it a shot.
He kept saying that this was his short 'break' and he would start working out once the gyms reopened again.
"Once this is all over and we can get back to our routine, I'll be back in shape."
Well.. we're more than 6 months in now and the only thing Lionel's gained.. is weight.
What about you? Are you guilty of that 'waiting' mindset? I want to encourage you to look at your goals and any plans that you had prior to COVID from a fresh perspective. How can you do things differently? How can you still go ahead with the plans or goals that you have?
You just need to get started. That's all it takes.
There is no big grand plan needed. No need to over think 1001 scenarios before deciding a course of action.
You just have to start somewhere because no one will ever 'be' ready. That readiness needs to be build over time through progress and that can only happen with action.
So if you need to do something to get out of that 'waiting' mindset, then check out this action program that you can follow to launch yourself out of waiting, and into getting things done!
