Success usually comes down to habits.
🏐🕹🤸
Most successful leaders acquire a varied number of habits that help them move the needle whether in their business or in their personal life.
You may have heard of some CEO's who start their day at 4am, or others who read 20 books a week..Leaders who don't drink coffee or others who sleep at 9pm every night like clockwork...
But is this true of everyday leader?
One thing is for sure and not just anecdotal -
successful leaders tend to be early-birds and have a lot of activities slotted in before work officially begins. I speak from experience! I start my day at 6am.
Studies show that mornings tend to be when most of us are most effective, and adding a morning habit or ritual can positively impact your day.
Another habit that many successful leaders have which you may also be aware of, is that
they make time and space for reflection. Most leaders will have 1001 things going on at any given time, so it can be hard to find time to reflect, but the best of leaders know that making time now saves time later. Zooming out for that key big picture insight helps ramp up productivity and it doesn’t have to take long!
But one habit that is underrated or overlooked, is
prioritizing learning on a day to day basis.
Eighty percent of CEOs believethe need for new skills is their biggest business challenge. But where does anyone find the time to learn every day? Most are time-poor, which affects their ability to dedicate time to learning.
Yet Learning a little something every day should be a high priority. Not just for leaders, but all of us!
So how do leaders who prioritize learning do it?
The majority of leaders prefer to
learn through short, through bite-sized chunks. They also
learn by doing a "deep dive" (i.e. reading full chapter or an entire book). Another method they use,
is using small moments of downtime - commuting, break, restroom trips. Don't underestimate these quick moments!
And the result of prioritizing learning?
You learn to develop a growth mindset, and you're constantly growing exponentially in knowledge and experience. This will not only help you in your career or goals, but improve your mental and emotional well being.
So are you making learning a life long habit?
If you want to learn new skills to improve and upgrade yourself, try using this solution to get started.
